Description

A wonderful Antique Edwardian Albert chain made up of solid 9ct Yellow Gold curb links which are stamped 9ct and have turned a lovely rosy hue with age.

Albert chains were named after Prince Albert and were used by wealthy Victorian gentlemen to secure a pocket watch by attaching it via the T-bar to the buttonhole of a waistcoat. Today though, they have taken on a new function and commonly worn as a womens statement necklace.

The chain is complete with a T-bar and claw clasp which are complete with Birmingham hallmarks which date the chain to 1911.
