Description
A gorgeous antique Suffragette bracelet from the early 1900s consisting of open, navette links with scrolling motifs within, each fashioned in 18ct gold and interspersed with pearl, amethyst, and peridot beads in between.
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white were often worn in support of the Womens Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase Give Women Votes!
It’s a wonderful design with a colourful assortment of gems, held securely by a ring clasp at the end.
