Description
A fabulous pair of antique Suffragette drop earrings from the early 1900s topped with green peridots (0.50ct each) and tailed by violet amethyst droppers (approx. 0.60ct each), with three twinkling rose cut diamonds across the centre bar (approx. 0.18ct total).
Jewellery displaying the colours green, violet and white was often worn in support of the Womens Social and Political Union (WSPU) which was at the forefront of the UK suffrage movement in the early 1900s. They adopted these three colours to highlight their key virtues: Violet for Royalty, White for Purity and Green for Hope, and also formed the phrase Give Women Votes!
Theyre very eye-catching and modelled in 18ct white gold with yellow gold links and wires.
