This long antique Georgian guard chain is absolutely fabulous, Circa 1800.
Set in 18ct Gold on Silver.
These chains used to be known as muff chains, they were long chains worn around the neck fastened to a Muff, a cylinder of fur used to keep the wearers hands warm in winter.
The Gold links are in perfect condition displaying stunning original workmanship.
Stamped with T.W.B on the clasp.
This can be worn as one length or wrapped around the neck twice for a lovely effect.
Complete with original trigger clasp which can be fastened to a Locket or Muff.
All original and steeped in Georgian history.
Looks fabulous when worn, a truly unique find.
