This wonderful Georgian long guard chain is, Circa 1880.
It is absolutely beautiful, each link is embossed showing superb workmanship.
The necklace is 18ct Gold on pinchbeck.
The embossed links lead to a beautifully detailed barrel clasp.
Georgian necklaces are extremely sought after worldwide.
Due to its age, Georgian jewellery is quite rare, with some pieces almost three hundred years old. From 1714 until 1837 four King Georges and a short-lived William gave rise to this extended period, spanning many fashions that are reflected in these stunning pieces of Georgian jewellery.
It looks beautiful worn, it is steeped in history too.
