This beautiful Victorian bull mouth shell cameo brooch is steeped in English history.
This brooch is hand carved from bull mouth shell, very well
executed and has developed a lovely smoothness to it with age.
It is set in a 18ct yellow gold engraved frame that is set with
cannetille workmanship and complete with a safety chain
Exquisite all round workmanship in very beautiful 18ct gold.
The carving displays lovely high relief carved ringlets, a
goddess of night and sea.
A harp can be seen at the bottom of the cameo
A locket is set in the reverse so you can add your own history.
Weighs 24.3 grams
Measures 51mm down and 42mm across with a depth of 17mm
The cameo measures 27mm across x 34mm down
In excellent condition for age.
