Description

This fabulous antique Victorian Scottish Silver padlock bracelet is Circa 1860.

Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.

The bracelet is set with fabulous large Agate links which interlink with engraved Silver links.

Agate is a strong mineral sometimes known as the earth rainbow for its patterned texture that shows varying colours the earth can produce.

The piece is held together with a detachable heart padlock which is adorned with a large Carnelian Agate on the front and an engraved flower on the reverse.

Carnelian stones were once known as The Setting Sun by ancient Egyptians due to the stones deep orange colouring. The stone has been worn throughout history as a symbol of leadership, providing the wearer with the courage needed in life.

This really is a special Scottish bracelet, a highly collectable piece that looks stunning when worn.

Weighs 38.4 grams.

Will fit a 6.5 inch wrist.

Agate Links measure 26mm across x 21mm down.

Carnelian Padlock measures 18mm across x 21mm down

Excellent all round condition.
