Description
This beautiful Edwardian ring was crafted in 1905 during the Suffragette movement and features three bright Peridots, 0.50ct in the centre and 0.15ct at either side. Two 0.30ct Amethysts bracket the central stone, with petit Diamonds set in between.
Suffragettes liked to be depicted as feminine, their jewellery popularly consisted of Violet, Green and White stones which were chosen to counter the masculine womens rights stereotypes put forward by opponents. Green is for Give, white is for Women and violet is for Votes!
This ring is fully hallmarked on the shank, and is a perfect example of the jewellery crafted during the struggle for womens rights; a beautiful historic treasure.
