Description
A regal antique Victorian amethyst pearl cluster ring, modelled in 9ct yellow gold. A lovely deep-violet cushion cut amethyst takes centre stage (approx. 0.80ct) and is collet set in a frame of natural pearls, with a silvery-blue tone.
Amethyst is the birthstone of February and the stone of Saint Valentine. Its deep purple-violet hue has been a favourite of royalty throughout history and contrasts beautifully with the bright, natural lustre of pearls, which together symbolise romance, love and loyalty.
The closed back gallery joins split shoulders, detailed with fine engraving and leads into a thick band at the back, complete with Birmingham hallmarks and the makers mark (A.B.)
This is a grand Victorian cluster ring, from the mid 19th Century (Circa 1860). Its in excellent condition and exhibits a gorgeous collection of natural gems that contrast and complement each other beautifully.
