This beautiful antique Victorian bracelet is set with 8 beautiful high relief carvings in Volcanic Lava. Circa 1860.
Set in 9ct Yellow Gold.
The beautiful high relief carvings are very well executed hand carved and project such fine examples of cameo/goddesses.
The cameos have developed a smoothness with age.
Volcanic lava jewellery traditionally came from the lava of Vesuvius which erupted in 79AD destroying Pompeii.
This type of jewellery became popular during the ‘Grand Tour’ days of the English aristocracy in the 19th century.
This bracelet looks wonderful when worn, a great talking piece!
