Description
A grand antique Victorian gate bracelet from the late 19thCentury fashioned entirely in 9ct gold. The wide band consists of twisted gate links etched with textured detailing and is held by a safety chain and large heart padlock clasp.
Heart padlocks were often gifted by Victorian gentleman to their loved ones during long periods of separation. It was a symbol of the couples strong love and commitment to one another, reminding the recipient that they may be gone, but their heart will always be with them.
The metalwork is truly exquisite and has developed a pleasing golden-bronze patina with age. It has a lovely sentiment attached and would make a special gift for the one you love most.
