Description

This fabulous Antique Victorian 15ct Gold Scottish brooch is Circa 1860.

Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.

The wonderful brooch is set with a large central Cairngorm which is over 20ct in size.

Cairngorm is a type of Quartz found in the Cairngorm mountain range in Scotland. It is most commonly yellow/ brown in colour and shines with radiant beauty.

The Cairngorm is surrounded with a rainbow of different coloured Quartz stones with plaid Agates set in the lower gallery.

Agate is a strong mineral sometimes known as the earth rainbow for its patterned texture that shows varying colours the earth can produce.

The brooch is all set in a beautifully engraved Scottish gallery, tested as 15ct Yellow Gold.

This is a truly stunning Scottish brooch that is steeped in Victorian history, a wonderful collectable piece.
