A sweet antique late Victorian heart pendant featuring a high relief forget me not in the centre topped with four turquoise petals and a cabochon ruby in the centre.
Turquoise is considered a stone of good fortune and has long been associated with the forget me not due to the stones matching sky-blue colouring. The flower was a popular motif in the Victorian era and symbolic of undying love and remembrance, making it a popular gift for lovers during long periods of separation.
The locket is modelled in 18ct gold with a stylish black enamel border. Its in excellent condition and complete with a locket on the back, complete with window and rim, ready to hold a cherished photograph or memento.
