A shell cameo depicting Hebe feeding Zeus’s Eagle, in Greek mythology Hebe was the goddess of youth and cupbearer to the gods, here she is depicted seated on clouds and pouring ambrosia
from a pitcher into a dish to feed the messenger of Zeus in the form of a swooping eagle;
The cameo is very well executed with high relief workmanship all round.
Set in a lovely gold frame with a rope edge finish.
