This magnificent antique Gold gilt Cameo Necklace is Victorian, Circa 1860.
The wonderful piece is adorned with three unique Lave Cameo images that are three dimensional and display splendid high relief workmanship.
Cameos have been carved since ancient times and were particularly popular during the Victorian era, usually depicting women and Goddesses from Greek mythology.
The Cameos depict three different scenes, the central piece shows the side profile of a beautiful woman with ringlets, on the right a loving Mother and child and on the left a lady and a rather mischievous dog.
The Cameos are suspended an a Gold gilt snake chain and fitted to a beautiful, engraved snapper clasp.
The necklace displays beautiful artistry and is one to be treasured!
