Description
This fabulous antique Micro Mosaic necklace is genuine Victorian, Circa 1860.
The necklace boasts colourful floral Mosaic tile work leading to a large central beetle dropper.
The central beetle is a symbol of good luck to the wearer and was a popular image during the Victorian Eras.
Micro Mosaic’s are a special form of Mosaic that uses unusually small pieces of glass (tesserae), or in later Italian pieces an enamel-like material, to make small figurative images.
The floral Mosaics are very fine and beautifully set, each section is hand made from 1860.
All set in Base Metal including the chain and hallmarked -A F- on the back of the beetle dropper.
Purchased in London and steeped in English history.
Looks fabulous when worn, a one of a kind necklace that is highly collectable.
