A grand antique late Victorian ring modelled in solid 18ct gold with the word Mizpah displayed in large lettering across the front, separated by a flower in the centre. Its beautifully detailed with a jagged edge and dark shading around the letters to make them really jump out.

MIZPAH is a Hebrew word meaning Watchtower and comes from the Old Testament; The Lord watch between thee and me when we are absent one from another. It became a popular motif during the Victorian era and was given as a token of protection and faithfulness.

Its a wonderful piece of Victorian history and complete with faded Chester hallmarks and the makers initials (CYBS), indicating it was made by Coley Brothers, Circa 1890.
