This stunning antique Victorian Mourning locket is set in 18ct Yellow Gold back and front, Circa 1840.
The piece is beautifully engraved displaying lovely patterned artistry on both sides.
The locket opens up to reveal two fabulous glass windows which display beautiful bouquets of curled hair.
Mourning jewellery in the Victorian Era mirrored the lives and times of the people who wore it. It was a souvenir to remember a loved one or a reminder to the living of the inevitability of death.
This is a truly special antique piece thats steeped in Victorian history!
