Description
A petite antique Victorian Mourning locket fashioned in 9ct gold with scrolling, foliate artistry chased across both sides and a circular belt and buckle on the front highlighted in royal blue enamel with a forget me not in the centre, both symbolising eternal love and remembrance.
The locket was likely made as a loving tribute to a deceased loved one and opens to reveal a lock of their plaited hair preserved behind a glass window so that a piece of them was always kept close to the wearers heart.
Its a wonderful symbol of everlasting love that has been beautifully preserved and treasured since the late 19th Century.
