A lovely antique Victorian serpent ring C. 1880, featuring two coiled snakes crowned with natural Pearls and red Ruby eyes.
Serpent jewellery became popular during the early years of Queen Victorias reign coinciding with the full flowering of the Romantic Movement. A coiled serpent represents love, loyalty and friendship.
The Ruby is considered to be the most powerful gem of the universe, given as a gift, the Ruby is a symbol of friendship, love and loyalty.
The piece is all set in 18ct Yellow Gold and beautifully engraved.
