This fabulous Antique Victorian Silver plated Scottish Thistle brooch is Circa 1860.

Scottish jewellery was made popular by Queen Victoria as it became a souvenir of her frequent trips to Scotland and her Scottish Castle Balmoral from the mid 1800s.

The brooch is set in a lovely thistle gallery and adorned with a 4ct cabochon Glass Amethyst stone in the centre.

The Thistle is the national flower of Scotland and has been a symbol of strength, protection and unity within the country throughout history.

The brooch is fitted with a pin and safety catch and complete with Silver Plated hallmark on the reverse.

Purchased in London and steeped in Victorian history. A wonderful collectable piece that looks beautiful when worn.

Weighs 9.4 grams.

Measures 44mm across x 44mm down.

Glass stone measures 10mm across x 12mm down.
