A sweet antique mid-Victorian bar brooch depicting a length of 9ct gold curb chain with a swallow in the centre holding a heart charm. Its decorated with white seed pearls and three sky-blue turquoise.
Swallows are known to mate for life and said to always return home to the nest, making them a powerful symbol of everlasting love, joy and faithfulness. They were especially popular in the Victorian era and gifted as romantic tokens by lovers during long periods of separation.
It would make a wonderful gift for a loved one and has remained in pristine condition.
