These fabulous antique Victorian earrings are hand carved from Whitby Jet, Circa 1900.
Whitby Jet was brought to the attention of the world by Queen Victoria who used Whitby Jet as part of her mourning attire. Jet is a type of brown coal, a fossilised wood from an ancient tree which today is highly collectable and sought after world wide.
The wonderful earrings display a hand carved leaf design on the front which stands out beautifully from the gallery.
Each earring dangles beautifully from the ear and is fitted with a long metal shepherd hook wire.
The earrings are steeped in Victorian history and look magnificent when worn, very eye catching!
Weigh 11.4 grams together.
Measure 26mm across x 57mm down.
