Description
This ingenious ring has been crafted in the Georgian Memento Mori style. 18ct Yellow Gold has been skilfully worked into a sturdy clasped locket, with beautiful engravings wrapped around the rings shoulders.
Within the locket is a stylised Silver skull with sparkling old rose cut Diamonds for eyes. Such macabre imagery was common in Memento Mori jewellery, which literally translates as remember you will die. The morbid themes were not a celebration of death, rather a reminder to live your life well.
This wonderful piece is a fantastic tribute to the craftsmanship of the Georgian era, and a great statement piece with a little surprise within.
