A macabre Georgian inspired Memento Mori ring depicting a coiled snake with cabochon garnet eyes wrapping around a skull set with two twinkling old mine cut diamond eyes (approx. 0.10ct total).
A circular serpent coiled around a skull represents the cycle of life, death and rebirth that is infinite and all encompassing. Such macabre imagery was common in Memento Mori jewellery, which literally translates as Remember you will die. These themes were not a celebration of death, rather a reminder to live your life well and cherish each waking day.
The band is all solid 15ct gold with scaled detailing along the front. Its very striking and has a unique design that looks wonderful wrapped around the finger.
