A striking Memento Mori inspired ring featuring a large gold skull on the front with lifelike detailing and two twinkling old mine cut diamond eyes (approx. 0.08ct each).
Such macabre imagery was common in Memento Mori jewellery, whichliterally translates as Remember you will die. The pieces were commonlydecorated with skulls, crossbones, and coffinsbut the morbid themes were not a celebration of death, rather a reminder to live your life well and cherish each waking day.
The piece is crafted in solid 15ct gold with intricate patterning engraved around the entire band. Its very eye-catching and a wonderfully macabre statement piece.
