A colourful Harlequin style gemstone bracelet adorned with oval cut violet amethysts, green peridots, golden citrines, red garnets and blue topaz, each weighing approx. 0.50ct.
Harlequin jewellery is named after the colourful costumes of the 16th century comedy actors of the same name. The style was popular during the 19thCentury and saw wonderful pieces of jewellery abundantly decorated in coloured gemstones.
Each stone is set in a 9ct gold frame and held by a hinged claw clasp at the end, complete with import marks indicating it was assayed in Birmingham in 1991. Its very pretty with a beautiful rainbow of gems.
