A fabulous pair of vintage drop earrings featuring magical, deep blue lapis lazuli hoops, speckled with gold flakes. Theyre suspended from coiled 9ct gold wires that wrap around the hoops and a second lapis lazuli bead in the centre.
Lapis Lazuli translates simply to Blue Stone and has been prized since ancient times for its deep, blue colouring and speckled gold flecks that were viewed as a reflection of the stars and the heavens, making it divine. It was considered a stone of great power and wisdom and was a favourite of ancient Egyptian pharaohs, most notably adorning the death mask of King Tutankhamen.
