A spectacular vintage cocktail ring boasting an enormous, brilliant cut synthetic alexandrite weighing an impressive 20 carats approx. It has an enchanting sparkle and bold colouring with flashes of violet, pink, blue and red depending on the type of light its under.
Alexandrite is a rare variety of Chrysoberyl first discovered in Russia the early 19th Century and described as Emerald by day, Ruby by night, due to its ability to change colour under different lighting conditions. It can appear green, blue, red or purple and is believed to bring luck and prosperity to the wearer.
The principal stone is flanked by three bright diamonds on each side (approx. 0.30ct total) and is mounted in a robust 14ct gold gallery with a muted yellow gold tone. Its a magnificent statement piece that is sure to catch the eye.
